The station Leipzig- Stötteritz is a railway station in the district of Leipzig Stötteritz.

History

The complex was opened on 1 December 1891 as the loading point for freight and served from 1 May 1893 as stop for passenger service. The original name Stötteritz was replaced on 1 April 1897 the present name Leipzig- Stötteritz. Since 1 May 1905, the plant is a train station. When removing the Leipzig railway installations, a second platform east of the existing has been structurally prepared, the proposed access and the bridge abutment for two more tracks are still visible. Until Überwerfung the connection path with the goods after ring angel village and Schönefeld Brückenauflager have also been prepared. These goods and services which have never been used.

From 1967, the freight station Leipzig- Stötteritz was converted into a container station, favored by its location on the Ring of goods and excellent road access. Two container bridges were built with crane runway and a stack space. The container station went on 2 December 1968 in operation.

Since 1969, the station also Stötteritz of the Leipzig S -Bahn is operated, most recently by S-Bahn line S2 from 2009 as MRB 2 wrong.

With the commissioning of the network of S -Bahn central Germany in 2013 Stötteritz was the terminus of the S-Bahn line S3, continues to service the line S1 in the station.

Description

The station Leipzig- Stötteritz is located away from the main railway station opened at the 1878 Leipzig- Connewitzer connection path between the breakpoints Leipzig Anger- Crottendorf in the north and the railway station of Leipzig Conne - joke in the south train six kilometers and ten -minute drive. At the northern end of the station, the link starts at the train yard angel village and to Leipzig -Schönefeld as part of the Leipzig goods ring. In Leipzig Stötteritz station the connection path starts to the site of the Technical Fair, now known as the Alte Messe Leipzig. The 1968 built for the exhibition rapid transit and a year later opened S -Bahn Leipzig Leipzig platform Voelkerschlachtdenkmal until 1996 Exhibition Centre, is also still within the station.

Construction

As part of the implementation of network complementary measures to the Leipzig City Tunnel station area has been completely redesigned and renewed by the end of 2013. Construction began in October 2011 with the dismantling no longer required railway tracks in the train yard and the bridge decks over the paper mill road. Was rebuilt in a central platform with two outer passage tracks and an inner track for head -turning trains. The S-Bahn route was relocated here from the East ( Route 6361 ) to the west ( Route 6375, goods ring) and the freight train tracks from the west to the east side. Furthermore, the transfer was aborted over the paper mill road and newly built, the platform accesses are directly integrated into the new bridge. A lift provides wheelchair access to the platform.

The originally planned separation of the main lines to and from angel village with those to and from Leipzig -Schönefeld was not carried out, are just the former freight railroad ring between the North and head of the branch office Anger.
