Lenzing AG is an Austrian company with headquarters in Lenzing.

Company Profile

Lenzing produces and markets primarily on the basis of cellulose viscose fibers in the textile industry - are used as well in the nonwovens industry - in apparel, home textiles and technical textiles. In addition, the company is active in the paper production, plastics technology and in machine and plant engineering.

Company structure and history

The company's history can be traced back to the year 1892 to a paper mill in Lenzing. 1938 saw the establishment of viscose staple fiber Lenzing AG.

In 1979 the company received the National Award and since then must the Federal coat of arms used in commercial transactions.

1984, the Company received its present name Lenzing AG. A year later, its shares were traded on the Vienna Stock Exchange.

Principal shareholder of Lenzing AG is now 67.6 percent, the Austrian investment company B & C Industrial Holding GmbH, a site promoting Foundation of Bank Austria and Creditanstalt.

Investments

Significant subsidiaries of the company is PT. South Pacific Viscose, the world's largest producer of Viskosematerialien.

Since 28 July 2009, the Lenzing Group owns 40 % of the Indonesian holding Pura Golden Lion ( PGL), a trading company which. The local fiber sales for the PT South Pacific Viscose operates. Lenzing strengthens its position in the East and Southeast Asian fiber market, and indirectly increases the investment in the subsidiary PT. South Pacific Viscose from 86% to around 91 %. End of October 2012 an additional production line was put into operation there. With a total of 320,000 tons / year, the South Pacific Viscose is currently the largest viscose fiber plant in the world.
