Leo Soekoto

Leo Soekoto SJ ( born October 23, 1920 in Jali, Indonesia; † 30 December 1995) was Archbishop of Jakarta.

Life

Leo Soekoto joined the Congregation of the Jesuits and received on 22 August 1953, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On May 21, 1970 Pope Paul VI appointed him. Archbishop of Jakarta. The Archbishop of Semarang, Justin Cardinal Darmojuwono, donated to him on 15 August of that same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Denpasar, Paul Sani Kleden SVD, and the retired Archbishop of Jakarta, Adrianus Djajasepoetra SJ.
