Léon Gastinel

Léon Gastinel ( born August 15, 1823 in Villers -les -Pots, Côte- d'Or, † October 18, 1906 in Fresnes, Val- de -Marne ) was a French composer.

Leon Gastinel was at the Paris Conservatory composition student of Jacques Fromental Halévy and received in 1846 the Grand Prix de Rome for the cantata Velasquez. He turned mainly of choral and orchestral composition to, in which he has a great job in: three big fairs ( the one with only female choir ), two symphonies, four oratorios.
