Leonce-und-Lena-Preis

The Leonce and Lena Prize, named after the comedy Georg Büchner, is a literary prize, which is awarded by the city of Darmstadt since 1968 every two years to a young poet or a Nachwuchslyrikerin. The prize is worth 8,000 Euros. The two also awarded prizes to each 4000 euro hot since 1997 Wolfgang Weyrauch prizes.

The Leonce and Lena Prize is the most prestigious prize for young authors in the field of poetry in German-speaking countries. He went out of the competition Literary March, at which up to 1000 participating authors in the 1980s. For 2005, an application fee of 10 Euro was introduced, after which the number of applicants fell sharply: For 2005, only 528 authors competed. The fee was increased for the competition in 2007 to 20 euros, which reduced the number of applicants again.
