LeRoy E. Cain

Cain received the 1988 Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University. He started in the same year to work in the aerospace industry. In the NASA Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston, he was responsible for the planning of the space shuttle missions and worked in the Mission Control Center in the real- time support. Cain began as an employee of Rockwell Shuttle Operations Company, and in 1991 an employee of NASA.

1997 Cain manager of the Space Shuttle Ascent / Entry Guidance and Procedures Section was then Cain became a flight director and used in 17 space shuttle missions. Here were six missions as a flight director at startup and eight as a flight director at the landing. During the mission, STS -107, he was flight director during the crash of the Columbia.

Cain was then temporarily acting deputy manager of the Space Shuttle Program and acting deputy director of Space Shuttle Processing in 2004. In November 2005, he was Manager of Launch Integration at Kennedy Space Center. With the direct reporting line to Wayne Hale He supported the complete management integration and operation of the Space Shuttle program. In April 2008, Cain returned to the Johnson Space Center to support the Deputy Shuttle Program Manager, Shuttle Program Manager John Shannon.
