Leskovik ( Albanian: Leskoviku ) is a city in southern Albania with a population of 1525 ( 2011). Local sources give but a three times higher number of about 4800 inhabitants on. The country town located in the district Kolonja in the mountains east of the Valley of Vjosa to over 900 müa about eight kilometers north of the border with Greece. Leskovik is located at a junction between two side valleys of the Vjosa below the towering cliffs of the west Mali i Melesinit.

In the Ottoman Empire Leskovik was an important regional center. A guide from 1932 describes it as an architecturally and scenically attractive town with 2000 inhabitants. From that time still bear witness to some pretty houses of local beys, and an Orthodox church.

The definition of the limits of the new Albanian state in 1913 deprived the place its economic foundations, as many residents had lands across the border in Greece. In World War Leskovik has been badly damaged. As a consequence, the population of 2200 inhabitants took off in 1923 to 1,300 persons in 1945. Was only in the 1960s, the population increased again up to 2200 inhabitants in 1987.

Previously, presumably located on important trade routes, Leskovik still lies on the thoroughfare of Tepelenë and Përmet after Erseka and Korçë. The road leads from the Vjosa Valley to around 350 müa by the imposing canyon of the river Carcova from the north into the town.
