Lester Matthews

Lester Matthews ( born June 6, 1900 in Nottingham, England; † June 6, 1975 in Los Angeles, California ) was a British actor.

Between 1931 and 1974, had the more than 180 film and television appearances. His breakthrough came in 1935 celebrated with great supporting roles in American horror films The Raven and The Werewolf of London. But outside of horror films, he shows only minor tasks. Here, the large, dark-haired actor most spirited young men or dangerous henchman played. From the 1940s, Matthews turned to more and more character roles that were always small and insignificant over the decades. On television, he was seen. In 1974 he ended his film career and died a year later on the day of his 75th birthday. Matthews ashes were scattered into the Pacific.
