Leszek Cichy

Leszek Cichy ( born November 14, 1951 in Pruszków ) is a Polish mountaineer.

Cichy succeeded on February 17, 1980, together with Krzysztof Wielicki the first winter ascent of Mount Everest. He is the first pole, the ascent of all the continents highest peak - the so-called Seven Summits - succeeded. He also defeated with the ascent of Gasherbrum II ( 1975), Makalu (1978) and K2 ( 1982) three more eight-thousanders. Among other things, he climbed Mount McKinley in 1989 and 1998, the Mount Vinson.
