Leszek Czarnecki

Leszek Czarnecki ( born May 9, 1962 in Wrocław ) is a Polish engineer, economist and businessman. He is considered one of the richest Poles.

Curriculum vitae

Leszek Czarnecki attended the Gymnasium No. III in Wroclaw. Then he studied at the Faculty of Engineering in the field of sanitation at the Technical University of Wroclaw. Already during his studies he founded his first company, the company TAN (hydro technology and engineering, especially underwater works ) 1986. He quickly became the main shareholder in 1991 and sold the company to his business partner. In the same year he founded the European Leasing Fund ( EFL ), from which he sold in 2001 75 % of Crédit Agricole. Until 2003 he held 25 % of the resultant Credit Agricole Polska.

In 2002 he founded the joint stock company Getin Holding SA, which specializes in the financial, insurance and leasing market. 2005/2006 he bought the product derived from the 1970s Poltegor Centre, which was then the highest building in the center of Wroclaw. Instead of Poltegor Centre he was the Sky Tower built, whose investor is the LC CORP., a corporation owned by Leszek Czarnecki.

Awards

Leszek Czarnecki 1998 by the Wall Street Journal as one of the best ten European Manager Award ( "The best CEO in Central Europe"). In the same year he was the winner of the competition " Young Business Achiever " in Beijing. In 2004 he was named the Financial Times on the 25th anniversary event of economic change and joining the common European economic market, as one of 25 " rising stars in European Business". She described him as a " trendsetter that is, the direction in the future in finance ."

In 2004 he was made an honorary member of the Polish Association of leasing companies. In November of the same year he was one of four people who have been awarded by the business school INSEAD and the French Ministry of Finance with the title " Entrepreneur of the Year in Eastern Europe".

In 2005 he won the prestigious award of Lesław A. Paga for outstanding performance and personal contribution to the development of the Polish financial system.

In the years 2005, 2006 and 2007, he was elected Player of the Year in a statement of the Polish edition of Forbes Magazine.

In November 2009, Leszek Czarnecki in an election that was organized by Ernst & Young, awarded an honorary award for " Entrepreneur of the Year ". The reason for this distinction was the fact that Leszek Czarnecki has created new jobs in the hardest time of economic crisis and not degraded.

In the selfsame month it was the business daily Puls Biznesu the title awarded "Entrepreneur of the 20th Century".

In March 2010, he was honored by the financial newspaper Gazeta Finansowa entitled Financial Man of the Year 2009.

In May of the same year the Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan awarded him with the Andrzej Wierzbicki Award from for his achieved success in business being

The Student Foundation Forum Business Centre Club of the BCC in 2010 awarded Leszek Czarnecki an award for his commitment to the promotion and development of entrepreneurship led in Poland.

Leszek Czarnecki was awarded in the same year by the Polish Chamber of Insurance a medal of honor for the many years of support and cooperation.

In January 2011, the business daily Puls Biznesu it has named entrepreneur of the year 2010. Another award was given to him by the Warsaw Business Journal in the category " Business Leader of the Year".

Social Commitment

In 2009, the first edition of Przedsiebiorczość - inicjatywa Leszka Czarneckiego program took place. It involves discussion forums that are organized by the most recognized universities in Poland and take place under the active participation of Leszek Czarnecki.

In the same year, the competition started, " I study, work, manage". Thus it enables entrepreneurs to enter into a joint venture company with him. A second edition of this competition ended in 2010 and a third edition was launched in 2011.

Leszek Czarnecki is also the founder of the LC Heart Foundation, which started its activity in 2007 in Breslau. The foundation helps children and young people in the fight for equal opportunities in life. Currently, the Foundation is named after its donor ( fundacja Leszka Czarneckiego ).

Private

His great passion is diving, especially in difficult waters such as caves and associated travel. He also holds a pilot's license.

Record holder in Poland and the world:

  • Polish record in cave diving depth - 193 m in the cave Boesmansgat, South Africa ( 2003)
  • World record in cave diving length - 17 km into the cave system Dos Ojos on the peninsula of Yucatan in Mexico ( 2009). There he has his previous record of 14 km, which he has prepared in the same cave system in 2005 improved.
  • Has several diving expeditions organized, such as to the North Pole ( Ice diving ), the Antarctic, the Bikini Atoll ( wreck diving in the aircraft carrier Saratoga, which was sunk by a nuclear bomb ) or an excursion through the impassable steppes of Siberia to dive in Lake Baikal.
