Leuven Bears

Leuven Bears (known as Stella Artois Sponsor of reasons) is a Belgian basketball club based in Leuven.

History

The club played its first match in the 1999/00 season in the highest Belgian Basketball League, the Ethias League. Since then he continually playing in this.

In 2005, the team won the Belgian Basketball Cup. In the final Spirou Charleroi was defeated with 87:80. Then they took part in the following year at the FIBA EuroCup, where the team was eliminated in the group stage.

In the 2008/2009 season Leuven reached the play-offs at the Belgian Championship, where you eliminated in the quarterfinals for the first time. 2011 and 2012 we also reached the Round of 8 and failed again there.

Since the 2010/11 season, the club is sponsored by the Belgian beer brand Stella Artois.
