Lev Natochenny

Lev Natochenny ( born January 26, 1950 in Moscow ) is a Russian- American pianist and piano professor. He lives in New York and Frankfurt am Main.

Life

He graduated from the Moscow P. I. - Tchaikovsky Conservatory with the title Dr. phil. from. Some of his teachers were, for example, Lev Nikolayevich Oborin and Elisso Virsaladze. His departure from the Soviet Union was granted in 1978. He initially remained stateless. 1981 Natochenny won the second prize at the International Piano Competition Ferruccio Busoni in Bolzano. In the U.S., he worked at the Manhattan School of Music, Mannes College of Music and at the City University of New York. Between 1988 and 2004 he was the Artistic Director of the Festival Meranojazz, an international summer meeting place for young piano players.

Natochenny was appointed tenured professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main, where it leads master classes for piano by.
