Lewis Allen (director)

Alfred Lewis Allen ( born December 25, 1905 in Oakengates, Telford, United Kingdom, † 3 May 2000, Santa Monica, California, United States) was a British film director.

Allen began his work in 1943 at the age of 38 years as director of the 16- minute short film Freedom Comes High. This Paramount Allen's recognized potential and had him a year later, in 1944, his first full-length feature film to stage: The Univited, a drama starring Ray Milland in the lead role.

Since 1954, he worked increasingly for television series such as Bonanza, Mission: Impossible You and Little House. In 1977, he went into retirement.
