Lex Humphries

Lex Humphries ( born August 22, 1936 in Rockaway, Queens, New York, † 11 July 1994) was an American jazz drummer.

Lex Humphries first played with Chet Baker in Europe in 1956, with Dizzy Gillespie in 1958, with the Art Farmer / Benny Golson Jazztet 1959-60 ( Meet the Jazztet ) and Donald Byrd in 1960. Known he was working with musicians that deal with world Music and Jazz sat apart, Sun Ra and Yusef Lateef. He also played with John Coltrane, Slide Hampton, John Handy, Freddie Hubbard, Wes Montgomery, Duke Pearson, McCoy Tyner, Leon Thomas, and Doug Watkins a disk.
