Li Ji (athlete)

Li Ji (李 季Chinese, Pinyin lǐ Ji, born 19 September 1979) is a Chinese long-distance runner.

The protégé of the controversial coach Ma Junren was the only runner from the so-called "army", granted the Chinese officials for blood tests in the summer of 2000 release for the Olympic Games in Sydney. There she was seventh in the 10,000 m. The following year she won the silver medal in the 5000 m at the East Asian Games.

After a positive drug test on 17 July 2001, the athlete has been banned for two years.

In 2004, she started for the Nagoya University of Commerce & Business at Nagoya Marathon and came on the 25th place.
