Li Jia Wei

Li Jia Wei (李佳薇, lǐ Jia Wei; born August 9, 1981 in Beijing ) is a table tennis player from Singapore.

Under the guidance of her father Li Wanxian, the operator of a ischtennisschule, Li began playing at the age of six years, table tennis. In 1996, she came to Singapore and joined the Singapore Table Tennis Association at. Three years later, she adopted the nationality of the host country.

Your greatest sporting successes celebrated Li in the table tennis world championships in Paris in 2003 when she was five. The following year, she reached the semifinals at the Summer Olympic Games in Athens. There they first defeated the North Korean Kim Hyang -mi and later in the 3rd place match of the South Korean Kim Kyung- ah.

Li was elected in Singapore Athlete of the Year in 2002 and received the Excellence for Singapore Award. From the Singapore National Olympic Council was in 2000 and 2001 won two in a row with the Order of Merit. Due to health problems, she finished the end of 2012 her career as a competitive athlete.

She was married to badminton player Ronald Susilo. From him they broke up and married in October 2008, the businessman Li Chao, with whom she has a son.
