Libor Procházka

Libor Prochazka ( born April 25, 1974 in Vlašim, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Kladno in the Czech Extraliga since January 2010.

Career

Libor Prochazka began his career as a hockey player in the youth of the HC Kladno, for the first team to 1997 he was active from 1991, first in the Czechoslovak first league and after the independence of the Czech Republic, from the 1993/94 season, in the Czech Extraliga. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1993 in the tenth round as a total 245 players from the St. Louis Blues, for which he, however, never played. In the 1997/98 season the defender was the first time abroad under contract when he ran aground for AIK in the Swedish Elitserien. After only one year of the right-handed shooter returned to his Czech homeland, where he played one season long for the HC Třinec.

In the summer of 1998, Prochazka was committed by the Worcester IceCats of the American Hockey League, for whom he in a total of 39 games eight scorer points, including two goals scored. He subsequently received a new contract, so he again returned to his homeland where he subsequently used for the HC Karlovy Vary, and two years for his former club HC Třinec was on the ice for a year. With the HC Sparta Prague the Olympic champion from 1998 in 2003/04 season third in the national championship was. After one and a half seasons, he left the capital city to compete for their league rivals HC Plzeň. Subsequently, the Czech spent the next two seasons each in both the HC Kladno, where he had begun his career, as well as the Swedish club AIK Skellefteå, for which he was active in the Elitserien and the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan. The 2007/08 season began Prochazka the HC Kladno, ended this but the Swedish second division club Leksand IF. Since summer 2008, the defender is at his former club HC Sparta Prague under contract by which he reached the third place in the Extraliga for the third time in his career in the 2008 /09 season.

In January 2010, Prochazka returned to his hometown club HC Kladno.

Internationally

For Prochazka Czech Republic took part in the U20 World Junior Championships in 1994 and the World Championships in 1997, 1998 and 1999 in part. In addition, he was in the squad of the Czech Republic at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano.
