Libore
Region
Liboré is a rural municipality in the department of co-location in Niger.
Geography
Liboré is located on the left bank of the Niger River in the southern Sahel region, bordering the Niger capital Niamey. The municipality consists of twelve administrative villages and hamlets ten. The main town of the rural community is the administrative village Liboré Zarma (also Liboré Djerma ). The neighboring municipalities except Niamey are Hamdallaye in the north, the east, and Youri N'Dounga and Bitinkodji in the south.
History
In the 17th century Liboré was settled by Zarma. From 2001 to 2002 the site was temporarily incorporated as a borough in Niamey Niamey VI. When the floods in West and Central Africa 2010 526 inhabitants of Liboré were classified as disaster victims.
Population
At the 2001 census Liboré had 16,494 inhabitants. For the year 2010 23.029 inhabitants were calculated. Among the inhabitants of Liboré include members of national minorities Zarma, Fulani and Hausa, and a Malian minority.
Economy and infrastructure
Agriculture plays an important role in the community. Besides the cultivation of rice, millet and cowpea livestock and fisheries are operated.
