Licoma

Licoma is a village in the department of La Paz in the lowlands of the South American Andean Republic of Bolivia.

Location in near space

Licoma is the central place of the district ( bolivian: Municipio) Licoma Pampa province Inquisivi. The village lies at an altitude of 1919 m, twenty five kilometers east of the snowy peaks of the Cordillera Real, between the villages of Cajuata and Inquisivi.

Geography

Licoma is located in one of the valleys on the eastern side of the Cordillera Quimsa Cruz, between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west and the Amazon lowlands to the east.

The mean average temperature of the region is about 22 ° C, the annual precipitation is 700 mm (see climate chart ). The region has a pronounced diurnal climate, the monthly average temperatures vary only slightly between 18 ° C in June / July and 24 ° C in November / December. The months of April to October arid, the monthly rainfall range from less than 10 mm during the months of June and July and between 130 and 150 mm from January to February.

Licoma lies at a distance of 255 kilometers of road southeast of La Paz, the capital of the department of the same name.

From La Paz the paved highway Route 3 leads east to Unduavi, and from there the Ruta 25 in a southeasterly direction about 195 km Chulumani and Irupana to Licoma and Inquisivi continue towards Cochabamba. In Inquisivi branches in a southwesterly direction from the Ruta 109, crosses the ridge of the Serranía de Sicasica and ends at Belén on the Route 1, which connects the cities of La Paz and Oruro.
