Company History

Life Technologies Inc., was a subsidiary of Dexter Corp.. 1983 by the merger of Bethesda Research Laboratories Inc. and GIBCO Corp.. ( Grand Iceland Biological Company) was founded. In 2000 the company was purchased by the smaller but well-funded Invitrogen, Life Technologies, the related name later for the entire Group.

Life Technologies Incorporated was formed on 21 November 2008 by the merger of Invitrogen and Applied Biosystems.

On 1 July 2012, the Company announced that it takes over the company Navigenics and thus expands in the field of molecular diagnostics.
