Lignol, Morbihan

Lignol ( Breton: An Ignol ) is a commune with 910 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region. It belongs to the Local Government Association Pays du Roi Morvan.

Geography

Lignol is in the northwest of the department of Morbihan and belongs to the Pays du Roi Morvan.

Neighboring municipalities are Ploërdut in the north, Locmalo in the northeast, Persquen in the east, the south and Inguiniel Kernascleden and Saint- Caradec - Trégomel in the West.

The village itself is located far away from major thoroughfares on the D782. The most important regional road connecting D769 to Saint -Pol-de -Léon to Lorient leads about 14 kilometers west over the place.

The major bodies of water are the river and the streams Scorff Kerustang and Saint -Vincent. Some of these form the boundary of the municipality. In the municipality there are also several more ponds. Large parts of the municipality area is covered by forest. Largest connected forest is the Forêt de communale Lignol.

Demographics

History

The municipality belongs to the historic region of Brittany Bro Gwened (French Vannetais ) and within this region to region Bro Bourlet (French Pays Pourlet ) and shares his story. Lignol belonged from 1793 until its dissolution in 1801 and then to Canton Canton Berné Guémené -sur -Scorff.
