Saint-Tugdual

Saint- Tugdual ( Breton: Sant - Tudal ) is a commune with 398 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region. It belongs to the Local Government Association Pays du Roi Morvan.

Geography

Saint- Tugdual is in the northwest of the department of Morbihan is part of the Pays du Roi Morvan.

Neighboring municipalities are Plouray in the north, the east and southeast Ploërdut, Le Croisty in the south and Priziac in the West.

The village itself is indeed a crossroads of different roads - but situated away from main thoroughfares. In five kilometers from the D1 passes. All other regional or supra-regional road links are far away from Saint- Tugdual.

The major bodies of water are the river and the streams Aer Corrogant, Kerminizy, Kersallic, Kermartin and Le Moulin du Bois. Partial form these simultaneously, the municipal boundary. In the municipality there are also several more ponds. In the northern part of the municipal area there are numerous large wood pieces. The greatest is the Bois de Kerminizy.

Demographics

History

The municipality belongs to the historic region of Brittany Bro Gwened (French Vannetais ) and within this region to region Bro Bourlet (French Pays Pourlet ) and shares his story. Saint- Tugdual belonged from 1793 to its dissolution in 1801 canton Priziac. Since then, the municipality in the canton of Guémené -sur -Scorff. In 1903 a part of the community split off and formed the independent municipality Le Croisty.
