Lilian Bond

Lilian Bond ( born January 18, 1908 in London, † January 25, 1991 in Reseda, California ) was a British actress.

Lilian Bond began her film career in 1929 in the American sound film No More Children. In the years to 1931 she played after her debut almost exclusively leading roles. Her most famous film of this period was the Western Rider of the Plains at the side of Tom Tyler. A significant side role she played in 1931 in Jack Conway's romantic comedy Just a Gigolo. In 1932 she was selected alongside Ginger Rogers and Gloria Stuart for WAMPAS Baby Stars. However, her film career failed to meet the hopes of the Hollywood producers ever since. Nevertheless, they played until 1953 in nearly 40 movies. After that she was seen until 1958 a few times in TV movies before she gave up her career. Among her best-known films include The house of horror with Boris Karloff, Melvyn Douglas and Charles Laughton in 1932 and The Westerner by William Wyler starring Gary Cooper from the year 1940. In The Westerner, she played the role of Lillie Langtry.
