Limmared

Limmared is a locality ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Västra Götaland County and in the historic province of Västergötland. The village is located about 35 km southeast of the city of Borås and 5 kilometers north of the community center in the community Tranemo Tranemo.

The place is Kust till kust the intermediate stop - banan Gothenburg on Boras to Kalmar / Karlskrona and was formerly railway junction since the railway line Falköping Landeryd happened here and the narrow gauge railway line Falkenberg Limmared ended.

History

The Limmared Glashütte ( Limmareds Glasbruk ) was founded in 1740. Today, glass packaging, especially produces glass containers for pharmaceutical products, children's food and the vodka brand Absolut Vodka. Today's glass factory is one of Ardagh Packaging Group and was until 1999 a part of the Swedish group's PLM (AB Plåtmanufaktur ), then belonged to Rexam 1999-2007.
