Lipót Baumhorn

Lipót tree Horn ( Horn Leopold tree ) ( born December 28, 1860 in Kisbér, † July 8, 1932 ) was a Jewish- Hungarian architect.

Life

Tree Horn studied at the Polytechnic Institute in Vienna with Heinrich von Ferstel. He planned and built dozens of synagogues, Jewish community institutions and private houses in the Kingdom of Hungary, and after the First World War in Hungary, including the synagogue in the factory town in Timişoara and the synagogues of Novi Sad, Rijeka, Murska Sobota, Zrenjanin ( destroyed by the Germans in 1941 ), Esztergom, Ujpest and XIII. District of Budapest. Twelve of the he built synagogues stand up today, including the synagogue of Szeged (1903), which is regarded as the culmination of his work.
