Lipowo, MrÄ…gowo County

Lipowo ( German Linde village ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and is part of the rural community Piecki ( whip village) in the powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg ).

Geographical location

Lipowo lies southeast of the county town Mrągowo (Sensburg ) Landscape Park Masuria (Polish: Mazury Landscape Park ) on the west bank of the Jezioro Majcz Wielki (Great Maitzsee ). Immediately at the site along a secondary road passes, the Kosewo ( Kossewen, 1938-1945 Rechenberg ) national road 16 with Dobry Lasek ( Guttenwalde ) connects to the province road 610. The nearest train station is Baranowo ( Barra Owen, 1938-1945 Hoverbeck ) on the railway line from Czerwonka ( Czerwonken, also: Roth Fliess, 1932-1945 Rotbach ) about Mrągowo by Elk ( Lyck ).

History

The question until 1945 Lindendorf town was founded in 1833. 1874, the village in the newly established office district Arrow Walde (now Polish: Pilnik ) incorporated. He belonged until 1945 to Sensburg ( Mrągowo ) in the district Gumbinnen (now Russian: Gusev ) of the Prussian province of East Prussia. On December 1, 1910 494 inhabitants were registered in Lindendorf. Their number increased to 1933 and amounted to 538 in 1939 to 476

In consequence of the war Lindendorf came with the southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish name " Lipowo ". Today it is a village in Gmina Piecki ( whip village) in the powiat Mrągowski the Warmia and Mazury ( Olsztyn Voivodeship 1975-1998 ).

Church

The predominantly Protestant population Linde village was until 1945 in the parish of Barra Owen (1938-1945 Hoverbeck, Polish: Baranowo ) eingepfarrt. It belonged to the church Sensburg (Polish: Mrągowo ) in the ecclesiastical province of East Prussia the Church of the Old Prussian Union. Today the population is majority Lipowos Catholic denomination. But ( Protestant ) parish church in Baranowo continues (now Catholic ) reference point. Baranowo is now the Dean Mikolajki ( Aiken ) in the Diocese of Elk ( Lyck ) associated with the Catholic Church in Poland. In Lipowo living evangelical church members now belong to a parish in the Diocese of Masuria Mrągowo the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland.
