Brave allowed to build the quarter it new. The Lipscani district is named after Leipzig (Romanian Lipsca ), because from there came merchants who sold their wares in the main street. Many professional groups such as goldsmiths, hatters, shoemakers, dyers and saddlery were represented, with many guilds ( isnafuri ) had their own lane. Even today, some of the streets are named after craft professions, such as Selari = Sattlerstraße.
