Lisa Banta

Lisa Banta (* May 29, 1979 in Peguaneck, New Jersey) is an American Goalball player and athlete.

Banta came at the urging of the New Jersey Association of Blind Athletes 's with the sport of Goalball in touch. Banta was lured so that they could continue the discus. In 2000, she was in Sydney for the first time women's Goalball team in the United States. In the previous games it had been intended as a replacement wife. In Sydney, her team finished sixth. In addition, Banta won two silver medals as a discus thrower. Four years later in Athens in 2004 she won her next silver medal with her team. Banta had been before these games among the first disabled athletes who were allowed to train in the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

In addition to the Paralympic Games, she also participated in various other international competitions and national championships. There, too, she could do well and win several medals. In the discipline discus throw she could set a national record in the B2 rating.
