List of Canadian ministries

This list shows the Canadian Cabinets since the state was founded in 1867 in Canada, the cabinets are. (English Canadian ministries; French Conseils des ministres du Canada ) is not named after the respective prime ministers, but numbered.

Each Canadian Cabinet is formed when the Prime Minister is appointed and dissolved, if this leaves office. The only exception there was during the tenure of Robert Borden, the unionist Cabinet of years is from 1917 to 1920 differed from the pre-existing conservative cabinet. Elections did not lead to a resolution of the Cabinet, unless they end with the defeat of the government. This contrasts with other Commonwealth realms such as Australia or the United Kingdom, where after each election, the Prime Minister a "new" cabinet is formed, regardless of the outcome. The previous 28 cabinets were consequently formed in 27 cases by the change of the Prime Minister, in a case with the extension to coalition partners by a serving Prime Minister.
