List of depressors of the human body

As depression is referred to in the anatomy, the pulling down of a structure. Muscles with the function as " depressors " called depressors. This function was for some muscles also namesake:

  • Depressor anguli oris ( " depressors of the mouth angle " )
  • Depressor labii inferioris ( " depressors of the lower lip " )
  • Depressor septi nasi ( " depressors of the nasal septum " )
  • Depressor supercilii ( " depressors of the brow " )

The opposite movement is called elevation, corresponding muscles Levatoren.
