List of German basketball champions
A German champion in basketball is the best each team every year a German Basketball Championship. For the first time such a master in 1939 named: the LSV Spandau.
When the Second World War, the national game operation came to a halt. It was not until 1947, the second basketball championship was played. The German Basketball Federation (DBB) was founded in 1949 in Cologne. Since the season 1966/67, the German champion is determined by the National Basketball League. Before that was played first class in the upper leagues north, west, south-west and south. In the GDR, the master of the German Basketball Association (DBV ) of the GDR from 1953/1954 bis 1990 played out.
Record title holder of the men are the Bayer Giants Leverkusen won championships with 14. In the period from 1997 to 2003 Alba Berlin dominated and won seven titles in a row.
In the women's SG KPV 69 indoor record title holder of the GDR with 20 championships. In the Federal Republic reached DJK Agon 08 Dusseldorf with 12 titles, the most championships.
