Kings of Vientiane (1707-1828)

The Kingdom of Vientiane was formed in 1707 due to continuing disputes about the succession and subsequent splitting of the Kingdom of Lan Xang. It was Siam, the powerful neighbor to the south, tribute.

Kings of Luang Prabang

After the split Lan Xangs into three parts the kingdom of Luang Phrabang was the weakest of the three new areas. It had to pay tribute to Siam, Burma and Vietnam at different times.
