List of Sierra Nevada road passes

This list of navigable passes in the Sierra Nevada in the U.S. state of California includes all paved pass roads which cross the main ridge of the mountain.

In the course of the 650- kilometer-long mountain range this cross only 13 pass roads, which are located predominantly in the north of the area. Between Tioga Pass and the little-used Sherman Pass the mountain range of vehicles at a distance of more than 300 km is insurmountable. The scheduled closure of Highways 4, 108 and 120, and weather-related unplanned closures of Highways 88 and 89 limits the number of transitions in the winter significantly.
