The Feather River, with a length of 129 kilometers, one of the main tributaries of the Sacramento River in northern California. It drains parts of the northern Sierra Nevada and a small portion of the California Longitudinal Valley. The river has a rich history as the scene of the gold rush in the 19th century. Large parts of central and southern California are supplied with water from the river.

Description

The river rises in three separate headwaters in the Sierra Nevada, which unite in the arms of Oroville Reservoir in the hills eight kilometers north-east of Oroville in the east of Butte County.
