List of world number-one snooker players

The list of winners of the Snooker World Ranking lists all winners of the snooker world rankings since their introduction. First owner was 1975, the Welsh Ray Reardon. A total of 10 different players had at No. 1 since the rankings.

Until 1981/82, the global ranking resulted solely from the results of the previous three World Cups. Only then other tournaments were awarded the status of world ranking tournaments. Nevertheless, the update of the official world rankings was only at the end of the season, all by the end of the World Snooker Championship. Between the remaining tournaments a so-called provisional world rankings was conducted whose leaders are not listed.

Only since the season 2010/11 an update of the official world rankings after each tournament in which there are ranking points.
