Lithuanian presidential election, 2014

The presidential election in Lithuania 2014 will take place on May 11, 2014. The President of the Republic of Lithuania is elected in direct elections by voters with Lithuanian nationality each for 5 years in the constituencies.

Candidates

The Election Commission registered only those candidates who will reach the necessary 20,000 signatures of supporters.

  • Zigmantas Balčytis (* 1953), politician, Member of the European Parliament, former Prime Minister ( LSDP )
  • Linas Balsys (* 1961), journalist and politician, Member of the Seimas ( LZP )
  • Kristina Brazauskienė ( born 1949 ), entrepreneur, widow of former Lithuanian President Algirdas Brazauskas
  • Dalia Grybauskaite ( born 1956 ), current President; they had been elected on the first ballot in the presidential election in Lithuania 2009
  • Vlada Lašas (* 1956), entrepreneurs and managers
  • Jonas Lašinis (* 1942), grader driver
  • Artūras Paulauskas ( born 1953 ), Member of the Seimas ( DP)
  • Rolandas Paulauskas (* 1954), journalist and politician
  • Naglis Puteikis (* 1964), politician, Vice Minister, Member of the Seimas
  • Bronisław Rope ( * 1955), politician, mayor of Ignalina ( LVŽS )
  • Waldemar Tomaszewski ( b. 1965 ), politician of Polish minority, Member of the European Parliament ( LLRA )
