Little Abitibi River

The Little Abitibi River is a right tributary of the Abitibi River to the north of the Canadian province of Ontario.

The river rises 50 km northeast of Cochrane. It flows in a northwesterly direction. It flows through the two lakes Little Abitibi Lake and Pierre Lake. The 200 km long river continues its course continues to the northwest. 70 km above its mouth the river from Newpost Creek Diversion Dam is dammed. It is part of the water taken from the river and the Newpost Creek fed, which flows westward flowing below the Abitibi Canyon hydroelectric plant in the Abitibi River.

The Little Abitibi Provincial Park encompasses the Pierre Lake and the river to the discharge into the Newpost Creek and its waters to the Abitibi River.
