Little Sandy River (Kentucky)

The Little Sandy River is a left tributary of the Ohio River in the U.S. state of Kentucky.

The Little Sandy River rises south-west of Sandy Hook in Elliott County. It flows through the counties Elliott, Carter and Greenup in north northeasterly direction and opens to the 137.4 km in Greenup into the Ohio River. Along its upper course runs the Kentucky Route 7 The river passes through the city Sandy River and the town of Sandy Hook. Then the Little Sandy River flows through the reservoir Grayson Lake. From Grayson leads the Kentucky Route 1 a piece along the river. Above argillites opens the Clay Lick Creek, drain the Greenbo Lake, from the left in the Little Sandy River. A few kilometers downstream ends of the East Fork Little Sandy River, the largest tributary, from the right in the river. The last few kilometers to its mouth accompanied the Little Sandy River from the Kentucky Route 2. The river has many meanders.
