Liu Xiaobo (taekwondo)

Liu Xiaobo (Chinese刘 哮 波, Pinyin of Liu Xiaobo, born January 16, 1984 in Beijing) is a Chinese Taekwondo, which starts at heavyweight.

Liu participates in international competitions since 2006. In the Asian Games 2006 in Doha, he was able to reach the semifinals in 84 kg class and win with his first bronze medal. The following year, he played in his hometown his first World Championship. By reaching the quarter-finals, he scored a good result. At the Asia Championships 2008 in Henan Liu won the title at heavyweight. He qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing home. In the class over 80 pounds, it was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Ángel Matos and finished third in the final standings eighth.

Successfully ran for Liu also the year 2011. At the World Championships in Gyeongju, he moved into his second overall World Cup quarter- finals, where he retired against Akmal Ergashev. End of the year he won the Asian Olympic qualifying tournament in Bangkok over 80 kg class in the final against Alisher Gulow and qualified for his second Olympic Games 2012 in London. There he won the bronze medal with a 3-2 victory over Bahri Tanrikulu.
