Llewellyn Woodward

Sir Ernest Llewellyn Woodward ( born May 14, 1890 in London, † March 11, 1971 in Oxford), often EL Woodward, was a British historian whose research focus was in the field of international relations in the 19th and 20th centuries. From 1944 to 1947 he taught at the University of Oxford. He worked at the private research institute Institute for Advanced Study from 1951 to 1960 and was employed as a professor emeritus from 1961 to 1971 there.

Woodward was one of the editors of the source edition Documents on British Foreign Policy, 1919-1939, which dealt with the British policy in the interwar period. From his pen also Volume 13 of Oxford History of England, which includes under the title The Age of Reform, the time from 1815 to 1870 comes from.
