Władysław Reymont Airport in Łódź (IATA: LCJ, ICAO: EPLL, also Łódź - Lublinek ) is the international commercial airport in the central Polish city of Lodz. It lies approximately 6 kilometers southwest of the city center and had about 390,000 passengers in 2011.

History

The airport was opened on 13 September 1925.

In 1996, a new passenger terminal was opened with a capacity of 50,000 passengers per year. Since 1997 is the port Lotniczy Lodz Lublinek sp. z o.o. ( Airport Lodz Lublinek GmbH) operator of the airport. 99.8 % of the shares are held by the City of Łódź, the rest of the two Aero Club Aero Club Polski and Aero Club Łódzki.

On 31 October 2002, the airport received an instrument landing system.

The airport was renamed in 2005 and since the port lotniczy Łódź is called in. Władysław Reymont after the Polish writer and Nobel laureate Władysław Reymont. In the same year, a new terminal was opened with a capacity of 500,000 passengers per year.

Airlines and destinations

Łódź is currently served almost exclusively by low cost airlines such as Ryanair and Wizz Air, the drive from here to destinations such as Dublin, London and Oslo. From April 2014 Adria Airways six times a week is a connection to Munich offered.
