Loire-Atlantique

The department of Loire -Atlantique ( [ lwaʀatlɑtik ], Breton: Liger Atlantel ) is a French department of atomic number 44 It is in the northwest of the country in the Pays de la Loire.

Geography

Adjacent departments are Morbihan, Ille -et -Vilaine, Mayenne, Maine -et -Loire and the Vendée.

The most important river is the river Loire, which flows into the Atlantic in the department at Saint- Nazaire.

Coat of arms

The "coat of arms " of the department was created by the French heralds Robert Louis, and was up in the 50s of the 20th century officially used.

History
