Lou Bennett

Lou Bennett ( born May 18, 1926 in Philadelphia, † February 10, 1997 in Paris) was an American Hammond organ player ( Hammond B3), who settled in 1960 in Paris, where he mainly with guitarists Jimmy Gourley and René Thomas, and drummer Kenny Clarke played together. He also takes 1966 outside Paris a record on ( in Prague) with the young guitarist Philip Catherine and the Italo- French drummer Franco Manzecchi. From 1980, he led a quintet in which starred Gerard Badini among others.

Bennett was in the early 60s alongside Ingfried Hoffmann 's most famous jazz organist of Europe.

In the French movie Le glaive et la balance (1963, German Title: On the Edge of the World ) by André Cayatte he is repeatedly seen with Kenny Clarke and listen.
