Louis Lallemant

Louis Lallemant S. J. ( Born 1 November 1578 Châlons -en -Champagne, † April 5, 1635 in Bourges ) was a French priest, Jesuit and theologian.

Life

After education at the Jesuit Louis Lallement joined in 1605 the Society of Jesus. After the usual training in Pont -à -Mousson in 1614 ordained priest in Paris, he became in 1615 the Spiritual Director of the College of Bourges and a little later even the novice master. From 1626 on, he accompanied the matured already in the life of the Jesuits, the imaginary to join permanently after a careful review of the final order. Soon, however, he fell seriously ill and died on April 5, 1635, a Maundy Thursday; he was only 47 years old.

Only the death of her man sees life right, he said: " The opportunity is a good death to die why something so precious that no reasonable person should miss to take it ... to die in the proclamation of the Good News ". Louis Lallemant is considered an important representative of the Ignatian and Jesuit school of asceticism.

There are no writings of Louis Lallemant, except for a few letters. His listeners were wont to take notes, which he delivered them. The published records are from Jean Rigoleuc, and to a lesser extent, by Jean -Joseph Surin.

Pope Francis remarked in 2013 about himself, he was " on the other hand am the mystical flow of Louis Lallement " ( the Jesuits ) near.
