Louis Mayer (painter)

Ludwig Hartmann " Louis " Mayer (* May 23, 1791 in Bishop 's home; † November 18, 1843 in Stuttgart) was a German landscape painter. His brother Karl Mayer (1786-1870) belonged to the Swabian poet circle.

Life

Ludwig Hartmann Mayer was born the second son of Friedrich Christoph Mayer (1762-1841), Office of the masters of Helmstatt to Bishop 's home. Among his godparents was 14 Carl Christoph von Helmstatt. His second first name Hartmann is the mother's maiden name. He always called himself Louis.
