Louis Zorich

Louis Zorich ( born February 12, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois ) is an American actor.

Life

Zorich grew up the son of Yugoslav immigrants. He attended Roosevelt University and completed his training as an actor at the Goodman Theater School of Drama in Chicago. He began his career as a stage actor in Canada since the early 1960s, he has worked successfully on Broadway and Off- Broadway. He made his Broadway debut in 1960 alongside Laurence Olivier and Anthony Quinn in Jean Anouilh's Becket. He later starred in Death of a Salesman, among others in productions of Danton's Death, Moby-Dick, as well as on the side of Dustin Hoffman and John Malkovich. In 1969 he was nominated for his performance in Hadrian VII for the Tony Award, in 1976 he received a Drama Desk Award nomination for They Knew What They Wanted.

Smaller rolls of film had Zorich among others in 1968 alongside Clint Eastwood in Coogan's big bluff and 1971 in Anatevka. Later he was also in The Muppets Take Manhattan and see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, a real film career, however, was not granted to him. Familiarity with the U.S. television audience he obtained in addition to guest appearances in television series such as Kojak - Kojak, Spenser and Law & Order primarily for his roles as Jules Berger in the series Brooklyn Bridge between 1991 and 1993, as well as Burt Buchman in Mad About You between in 1993 and 1999. Moreover, he is Voice -over- speaker worked on numerous commercials.

Zorich is married to actress Olympia Dukakis since 1962, they have three children together.
