Love Affair (band)

The Love Affair was a British pop band, along with groups such as Amen Corner, Marmalade and the Tremeloes dominated the charts in the late 1960 's.

In 1966 Steve Ellis ( born April 7, 1950 vocals), Maurice Bacon ( born January 26, 1952 drums), Morgan Fisher ( born January 1, 1950 keyboard), Ian Miller ( guitar) and Warwick Rose ( bass), the band " Soul Survivors ". Since there was already an American band of the same name, they changed their name to "The Love Affair". The cast changed several times in the course of time. The temporary band members included, among others, Peter Bardens (keyboards).

She Smiled Sweetly The first single, a song by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, appeared in early 1967, however, was a flop. The end of 1967 came out Everlasting Love and rose in the UK at # 1 on the charts. The song had previously been released in the U.S. by Robert Knight. There followed many other hits like A Day Without Love or Rainbow Valley (both 1968) and Bringing On Back The Good Times (1969). Only many years later, the producer Mike Smith admitted that except for the lead singer Steve Ellis no other member " had been even close to the studios ." They were just too bad to him, and so he put the singers studio musician to the side.

In 1970, the band broke up again. Steve Ellis first started the band " Ellis " and then sang in " The Widow Makers ". After 1991 he played as "Steve Ellis 's Love Affair".
