Lübberstedt

Lübberstedt is a municipality of the velvet municipality Hambergen and is located on the northern edge of the district Easter wood in Lower Saxony. The municipality is located north of Bremen in the North German Plain.

History

For the first time the church was mentioned in records in 1105, when Archbishop Frederick of Hamburg the Church of Bramstedt confirmed, inter alia, the affiliation of the village " Lubberstedi ".

From 1936 to 1945 was in the Bremen forest ammunition Institute of the Air Force for the completion of ammunition, the main air ammunition depot Lübberstedt to which from 1944 was a subcamp of the Neuengamme concentration camp. Moderate traffic connection exists with its own railway station on the railway line Bremen- Bremerhaven ( - Cuxhaven ). The highway 27 ( Walsrode Cuxhaven ) is 15 km away and can be reached via a county road. The main transport links to the county seat Osterholz- Beck and the regional center of Bremen is 4 km away federal highway 74 Bremen -Stade.

Structures

Lübberstedt has an intact windmill. In the years 1868-1872 a Wall Dutch windmill was built with drive-through, which stood on an earth and stone wall could be rotated by the head of the mill by means of a " cod-end " ( Nds. for " tail" ). After this original mill was burned in 1909, was built in the same year the new Dutch wind mill with roller blades and wind rose so that the rotation of the mill complex was omitted.
