Vollersode

Vollersode is a municipality of the velvet municipality Hambergen and is located on the northern edge of the district Easter wood in Lower Saxony.

Geography

Geographical Location

The community Vollersode is located about 35 kilometers north of Bremen in the North German Plain. Dominated landscape is the place of transition of the Weser mouths Geest a glacial terminal moraine, the Devil's Moor. The districts Vollersode, Wallhöfen, Giehle and Giehlermühlen lie on the Geest at a height of 20 to 30 m above sea level. NN. The other districts are moorland villages at an altitude of less than 5 m above sea level. NN. Through the community of Giehler stream flows as a small meadow river that meets the Hamme- Oste- channel in cattle Specken and there is the river Hamme.

Neighboring communities

In the southwest Vollersode borders Hambergen, on the northwest by Holste, both of which also belong to Samtgemeinde Hambergen. To the northeast, the municipality in the district of Rotenburg an Gnarrenburg closes (Wümme ). Southeast is the unified community Worpswede, south of the city Osterholz- Beck.

The municipality is divided into nine districts:

Wallhöfen, Giehle, Giehlermühlen, Ahrens village, Giehlermoor, Bornreihe, Home of Peace, Verlüßmoor, Swanemoor.

History

For the first time the church was mentioned in 1185 as Valdersha documented. The name is explained on the coat of arms on which a well is to be seen. Turf is another term for wells so called Vollersode translated Full fountain. The Beaker grave of Wallhöfen, situated in a hamlet of Vollersode on the Geest heights of the devil Moores.

Incorporations

Vollersode formed in the course of municipal reform in 1974 with the communities Hambergen Axstedt, Holste and Lübberstedt the Municipality Hambergen.

Culture and sights

Structures

There is a Dutch windmill, which is now used as a dwelling house on the road from Wallhöfen the Born series. In Giehlermühlen is directly on the main road 74, the former grain mill, the mill dam, but without a wheel, is still present.

Nature Reserves

In Giehlermühlen to the main road just west nature reserve Springmoor, a moraine bog with fen basis.

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

Moderate traffic connection is via the railway stations Lübberstedt and Oldenbüttel, which are both about 10 km away, on the railway line Bremen- Bremerhaven ( - Cuxhaven ). The highway 27 ( Walsrode Cuxhaven ) is 19 km away and can be reached via the highway 134. The main artery and access to the county seat Osterholz- Beck and the regional center of Bremen is the federal highway 74 Bremen -Stade.
