Lubiatowo, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Lubiatowo ( German Lübtow ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland.

Geographical location

The village is located in Eastern Pomerania, about 40 km south-east of Szczecin and 10 km east of Pyrzyce ( Pomerania ), on the northwestern edge of the Plon ( Plönesee ).

Through the village the leading province road runs from west to east 122 neighboring villages are in the northwest Zaborsko ( Sabes ) and to the east along the voivodeship Ukiernica ( Ückerhof ).

History

From possibly ur or early historic period are extensive discoveries that were made in the 19th century after the lowering of the Plönesees. So the Płonia according to the known, 1853/54 at Lake Zurich made ​​findings (see Pfahlbauromantik ) were found from the Plönesee piles, hollow bricks, tools and weapons of iron and stone tools from 1859 on both sides of the previous effluent, which was interpreted as Pfahlbautensiedlung, . The village was first mentioned in 1235 as Lubatow; it served in a by Duke Barnim I of Pomerania issued for the monastery Kolbatz certificate of ownership to the boundary description. Lübtow was an old feud of the noble family von Schöning. Before 1370 Friedrich von Schöning had attacked three villages of Camminer cathedral chapter, after which the chapter was besieging and taking his castle Lübtow.
